Scratch Repair Training Denver
There are three types of scratches that ruin a vehicle’s appearance: scratches that do not penetrate the paint, scratches that slightly penetrate the paint and scratches that significantly penetrate the paint. At Automotive Alliance, we have years of experience repairing all types of scratches using techniques based on each vehicle’s unique needs. Listed below are the methods we use to repair the three types of scratches:
- Scratches that do not penetrate the paint.
Scratches become noticeable even when they penetrate the clear coat and take on a white appearance. For clear coat scratches, we use special buffing and color sanding techniques that save you the cost of repainting an entire panel.
- Scratches that slightly penetrate the paint.
Scratches that slightly penetrate the paint layer are softened with buffing and then made invisible with special paint perfecting techniques.
- Scratches that significantly penetrate the paint.
For deep scratches, repainting the entire panel is the best way to achieve a scratch-free appearance. However, if your desire is to have a less noticeable blemish and to have paint in the scratch to prevent rusting then we can offer color sanding and touch-up painting that will achieve such a result. At Automotive Alliance, we only recommend scratch repair and removal techniques that actually work.
The Importance of Mixing Paint to the Manufacturer’s Code
Since most scratch repair involves painting, mixing new paint to match the existing color is crucial to removing the damage. At Automotive Alliance, we mix paint according to the manufacturer's code, so there are no indications of damage when the job is complete.
